getting by....

I haven't been very good about blogging lately.  Once again, I will try and get better!  I've had drama with a couple of 'friends' which is annoying, considering we are all in our mid to upper 30's and I thought this kind of thing would be gone by now.

Triathlon training has been going fairly well.  I was gone so much in July that I failed to get into a good routine, but over the past couple of weeks I have been able to be more consistent.  I'm really not worried so much about the bike and run, it's just the swim.  I'm seriously having anxiety about it.  It's 'only' 500 meters (or so many people tell me), but it's my first race and it's in a lake with other gals kicking and splashing me.  I've done one open water swim, which didn't go great, and I'm doing another this morning and yet another on Saturday.  The swim on Saturday will be in the actual lake I will swim in for the triathlon.  I just have to focus on my breathing...focus, focus, focus!  Deep breathing.  Ugh.  If I can get through this triathlon, and I am still feeling good, Ryan and I will run the KC 1/2 Marathon together.  We'll see how I feel...I had been having some leg and knee pain.  The knee pain is from the fact that my IT band area of my leg is super tight.  I had been trying to stretch and roll it out on the foam roller but wasn't having any luck.  I just went and got a massage to get it worked out, so hopefully it helped.  The gal said it was extremely tight.  I blame the fact that I missed yoga for 2 weeks in a row in July and I wasn't using the foam roller consistently.  She dug in so deeply that I am bruised.  The last time I got bruised from a massage was when I was pregnant with Lola and my massage guy was trying to work out my sciatic nerve pain.  It worked that time, so hopefully my IT band will loosen up this time.
